Drawing
Highly recommended as a prerequisite for Watercolor (offered Winter/Spring term) and other art courses, this course focuses on drawing with the use of pencil, charcoal, and colored pencil. Students will learn about shading, composition, and how to "see more correctly" when drawing. Some figure drawing will also be covered. A list of materials needed will be sent upon registration.
Schedule:
Weeks 1 and 2: Geometric forms in charcoal
Weeks 3 and 4: Still life in pencil
Weeks 5 and 6: Figure drawing in pencil
Weeks 7 and 8: Still life in colored pencil
Watercolor
This course provides the basics of watercolor. Techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, dry brush, masking, glazing, and paper stretching will be covered. Each project is designed to develop use of these techniques. A supply list is provided at the walk-in registration.
Semester Course Days and Time:
Dates: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays for 8 week semesters in the spring, winter, and fall
Time: 7-9 pm
