The course is given by Andrei Jaikin Zapirain and the problem sessions are led by Pablo Sánchez Peralta.
Abstract:
We describe the theory of representations of the group algebra KG over a field K into division rings, as developed by Cohn and Malcomson. We show how this theory relates to ordinary and mod-p L2-Betti numbers when G is torsion-free, and we discuss several recent applications.
The course is given by Sam Hughes.
Abstract:
In this minicourse I will survey the theory of l^2-homology. More specifically, I will look at some of the formulations of the homology groups (via l^2-chains, via von Neumann algebras, and in a more restricted setting via skew fields). I will highlight some recent applications of the homology groups and I will demonstrate a number of methods for computing them.

The couse given by Andrei Jaikin will take place in the Seminar room of the Mathematics Department at the Leioa Campus of the UPV/EHU.
Once you leave the bus, walk a few meters and enter door number 3 (see picture below). Walk straight until the end of the corridor and on your left, you will see stairs. Go up one floor and the seminar is the first door on your left.
The course given by Sam Hughes will take place in room 1.A1 at the Leioa Campus of the UPV/EHU.
Enter through door number 2 (see the picture below). On the sides there are stairs and you go up to the first floor. There you turn left, walk a few meters and the room will be on your right.
