Each time you fall a little further
Each time it builds a sliver inside
Each time it takes a little more courage
To get up again
It’s how it starts a tiny thread, a sliver in your mind
That pulls and pushes you, leaving you behind
Those icy threads, playing with your heart
Pulling at you from all sides, tearing you apart
How can I have so much
But nothing left to lose?
How come I feel like I've
So much to prove?
I said no one's getting in again
I said no more hurt or more pain
You said we really don't control it
Even if we think we do
Those velvet threads, familiar as a hand in glove
Each and every long embrace, every time you love
The outline of your smile, takes me drifting for a while
All the slivers in your eyes, dissolving underneath the skies
How can I have so much
But nothing left to lose?
How come I feel like I've
So much to prove?
Those tiny threads, slivers deep inside of you
Each and every long embrace, every time you love
They tremble and they quiver, and it feels like nothing else on Earth
Every time you give yourself, and every time you love
How can I have so much
But nothing left to lose?
How come I feel like I've
So much to prove?
