Sophomores & Juniors:

Sign ups for the PSAT-NMSQT will begin Oct. 2.  The PSAT-NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be held here at GHS on October 24 at 8:00am in the Sports Center.  You may sign up in the Guidance office. The cost is $20. Once you pay, you will receive a practice book. You cannot sign up and reserve a spot until you pay. This test is for 10th and 11th grade students only.  The PSAT is the test that must be taken in order to become eligible for National Merit Scholarship opportunities. It is a practice test for 10th graders and is the actual qualifying test for 11th graders. The test is on a National test date and is only given once a year.  We have 100 spots available. First come, first serve. We generally fill each spot every year. This test is not required but we strongly encourage honors and AP students to take this test and recommend ONLY honors and AP students do so. See your Ms.Lackey if you have further questions.

Sophomores & Juniors: 2018 Governor's School applications are available. Students interested in any of these 11 summer programs please see Mrs. Brewer in the guidance office. Links with further information are available on the GHS Guidance website. The Arts application needs to be completed and turned into you guidance counselor by Friday, November 2nd. All other disciplines are due to your counselor by Friday, November 23.
