Organizing Day 2006

A little about the chapter...

The Green River Chapter, NSDAR, is located in Aberdeen, Kentucky, in Butler County.

The chapter was organized on October 7, 2006, and has been involved in community events, outreach, and local civic organizations.

Current Annual Activities:

  • Veterans events, including Veterans Day Parade Reception and Veteran of the Year awards

  • Memorial Day, in collaboration with Butler County Chapter, NSDAR Chapter, VFW Auxiliary, and local Sons of the American Revolution chapter

  • Sponsoring the Green River Society Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.)

Past Activities:

  • Working with Andrea's Mission, local resident treatment programs for men and women

  • Tenth Anniversary, September 11 Patriot Day Parade, in 2011

  • Folk Festival

  • Flag Day flag retirement ceremonies

  • Chautauqua Speakers of the Kentucky Humanities Council at chapter meetings, and open to the public

  • Flag programs for elementary school students

  • Working with local Sons of the American Revolution chapters
