Comments

There were two older children listed in the 1880 census: Clara B, born about 1868, and Sydna, born about 1874. When the father dies in 1896, the other four children are mentioned by name but these two are omitted. Alva was called Frank in the 1880 census. He joined his brother Guy in San Diego and died there. (So did Guy die there and also Mabel who came later.)
