Trail Project Prioritization Process
The Trails Working Group regional trails planning process is illustrated below and described here:
Conduct the first series of planning meetings: core team, working group and mapping team
Community Workshop 1 (December 2018): Gather map-based trail interests and user group desired trail experiences/characteristics (see attached doc below)
Map team digitize data, create maps with proposed trail projects
Community Workshop 2 (April 2019) and online opportunity for input: Your trail preferences -> 1st prioritization round to narrow community interests; participants provide feedback on trail selection criteria
Mapping team processes input to narrow list of trail projects
Trails Working Group systematically applies criteria to projects with most interest gathered in workshops and online (Nov 2019)
Leadership Council/agencies review high priority projects and decide which projects to move forward in their respective jurisdictions *WE ARE HERE*
Trails Working Group reviews outcomes, plans public workshop, outlines next steps
Community Workshop 3 (Summer 2020): Share outcomes, volunteer sign ups, plan forward
Implementation and continued process
