See the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) below. We will update this page as often as we are able with frequent enquiries.

• Where is Granby Rifle and Small Arms Club Located?

  • • .22 and Air Rifles are primarily shot in our Central Leicester City location. Shotguns and Black Powder, among other Calibers are shot at an outdoor range in Swadlincote.

• Do I need to have an FAC to join the club?

  • • No! An FAC is not a requirement to join the club but being a member is a stepping stone in becoming an FAC holder if you wish to do so. Which will allow you to keep your own firearms and ammunition.

• Is there any club equipment that I can use?

  • • Absolutely! But keep in mind this equipment is very limited and you could be sharing with multiple applicants thus making your shooting time reduced.

• What are the club fees?

  • • Annual membership fee for the club is currently £75.00. Family memberships are available which offer a cheaper overall package compared to multiple individual memberships. 

• How do I apply?

  • • Apply using our registration form here. Your details will then be sent off for police verification which will take 3 weeks then you will be contacted with the status of the verification.

• Is it possible to have any free trial days before paying for membership?

  • • It is! Once you have applied for your probationary membership and passed police checks, you will be able to attend 4 Firearms shoot evenings before being required to pay for a membership!

• Do I need to pay for my own ammunition?

  • • You do. We cannot say the cost of the bullets as this is constantly subject to change. Keep in mind you will not be allowed to take your ammunition home with you unless you are an FAC holder in which case you would need to leave this with another member who is an FAC holder. If you choose to no longer attend but have some bullets left to shoot, you will not be able to take these away unless you are an FAC holder. If you are not, they will remain with the club and we cannot refund the amount remaining to be shot. 

• How often will I be shooting?

  • • .22 firearms are shot on Fridays every 3 weeks (18 evenings a year) between 19:00 and 21:00. Air Rifles are generally once every 2-3 months (5 times a year) between 19:00 and 21:00 but the frequency can change depending on member interest. Firearms shooting at Swadlincote is on Saturdays every 3 weeks (18 times a year) between 13:00 and 15:00.

• Can you share shooting times, dates & locations with me before I apply to join?

  • • Yes. We shoot at Ulverscroft Road in Leicester and Swadlincote Shooting Grounds.

• Are there any other club benefits?

  • • As well as being able to shoot at our indoor range in Central Leicester, you will also be welcome, as part of your full membership, to shoot in one of two slots open at an outdoor range in Swadlincote.
