False Fire Alarms

Summary

If a false fire alarm goes off, the only way to stop the fire department from coming out is if you call the alarm company immediately.

Background

All units contain one hard-wired smoke detector that is monitored by Central Alarm, which sends the alert to the Mountain View Fire Department.

If this smoke detector is tripped:

• The fire department will be dispatched.
• An audible alarm will sound in your unit.
• The alarm on the end of your building will sound.
• A light at the end of your building will indicate which unit the alarm is coming from.

Note:

The company that maintains our local fire alarm system is Statcomm. After any incidents one of the Board members will call Statcomm to have them come reset the alarm (650-988-9508). Cory has worked on our system in the past (650-444-6340).
