At the 10 a.m. service each Sunday the music of Grace finds its primary expression within the framework of the liturgy. Vibrant, beautiful, and meaningful expressions of our Anglican musical resources include psalmody, choir anthems, organ voluntaries, hymns, and other musical settings of liturgical texts. The use of "The Hymnal 1982" and "Wonder, Love, and Praise: a supplement to the Hymnal 1982" allows the congregation to lift up their voices in song.
There are several opportunities for musical ministry at Grace both during and outside of worship:
Grace Choir
The Grace Choir, open to singers from ninth grade through adult, sings at the Sunday 10 a.m. service from September to May. Special services include an annual Advent service of "Lessons and Carols." Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. and at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays during the school year. Interested singers with some experience in choral music are welcome. If you would like to join the Grace Choir and have not sung at Grace before, please contact the Music Director, Berkley Guse, on Sunday morning after the service, or by e-mail, musicdirector@gracechurchmadison.org, or phone: (608) 206-6039.
Special Music
Throughout the year, guest musicians are invited to participate alongside our Grace Choir or organist. If you are interested in special music at Grace, please contact Music Director, Berkley Guse, via e-mail, musicdirector@gracechurchmadison.org, or phone: (608) 206-6039.
Grace Presents
The architecture of Grace Church makes it a naturally stunning place to listen to music. In recognition of the joy of music in this space, the Grace Presents Concert Series was born. Learn more about the program and see the current series schedule by visiting the Grace Presents page.
