Darn laptop still giving me heck, mostly in the early morning hours. Half of the trouble seems to be Windows doing update stuff in the background even though all that is turned off. What can I say, it's running Windows 7...
The last two days haven't been too bad, as far as trains here go. When the slowdown breaks, it'll be even worse than normal, so not looking forward to that.
We had a pretty thick fog a couple of mornings ago and I was happy to see my setup look right through it, no problem. Bodes well for the snow storms soon to be here. :)
HackaDay did a real nice little write up on this project, and I'm seeing some interest in the project from there. Love it! https://hackaday.com/2017/11/06/trainspotting-with-junk-for-science/
I'm getting some real good suggestions from the HackaDay readers, and the one I'm taking a look at today is adding the railroad ATCS signals to the setup. Thanks Dissy! Those are signals the railroad broadcasts from track side about locations of all the trains going by, as well as other information. There is even one of their broadcasting stations about 500 feet from my house! And I never knew it was there. I'm sure the laptop won't take the extra load, though, so it would mean finding something else to run it on. May have to make a trip back to that junk pile and see if something jumps out at me...
