Alton Brown Bio

Alton Crawford Walter Brown (born July 30, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, United States) Alton was however raised in Georgia where he lives today and where Good Eats is taped. He started his career as a director of music videos. He was also a stage actor in collage. Later in life at the encouragement of his wife Deanna he went to the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. They moved there during his schooling. Alton felt he could make a different kind of food show as he was fed up with what was out there. So, he and Deanna made Good Eats. It was set to air on PBS but Food Network picked it up instead. Although you will see her name in the credits Deanna has never appeared on the show. Their daughter Zoey born in 1999 has appeared on a few episodes. Alton Lives with his family in Marietta,Ga.

Alton is a Christian as well. He often references the Bible on his shows.
