Project title: Computationally guided-design of conjugated block copolymers for solar cells

(started 01-2013)

Research description

I work with Prof. Janik and Prof. Gomez. My research focuses on by applying QM(Quantum Mechanics) methods to investigate intermolecular electron transfer rates and intramolecular electron transfer at block copolymers donor/acceptor interfaces. Through examining electron transfer rates for different organic solar cells materials(donor/acceptor) and diverse interfacial conformations, I can efficiently design the block copolymers interfacial geometries and optimize the molecular structures: which can promote higher electron transfer rates and help to guide design the molecular structures of donors and acceptors leading to improved Organic Photovoltaics (OPVs) performance.
