“Iconic Peaks and Landscapes of the British Isles.”
On November 1st at 6:30 p.m., we will have our Fall Speaker Program featuring our own outing director Ken Corey.
Ken will will show slides and tell stories from his recent hikes and climbs in Ireland, Wales, and England. While the Alps and mountains of Europe are better known, you'll be surprised by the beauty and variety of scenery that Ken experienced.
Held at CVUUS, 2 Duane Court. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome and admission is free. Donations would be welcome and support the Green Mountain Club.

Members of our team, the Bread Loaf Loafers, are excited to come together again this year to participate in Long Trail Day Hike-a-Thon, a fundraiser supporting Green Mountain Club. As a maintaining section, we understand how hard it is to maintain the Long Trail System. Every donation—big or small—helps us reach our fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.
Our section will be leading three different hikes on Long Trail Day and then came together in Bristol to share stories and quench our thirst. The hikes are of varying lengths; one at Bristol Cliffs and two on the Long Trail.
Last year we raised $1,451 with your help. Let's do even more in 2026!!!
Thank you so much for your support! Hope to see you on the trail!
Ivor Hughes, a well-known hike leader from Monkton, has generously provided the Bread Loaf Section with a dozen of his highly entertaining and educational "movies," documenting his recent backpacking trips with friends.
