Summary
Welcome to my homepage. It is still (very badly) under construction.
My name is Glen Wheeler and I am a Geometric Analyst. I am primarily interested in geometric evolution equations, such as surface diffusion flow, Helfrich flow, Willmore flow, and mean curvature flow. More broadly my interests include:
Calculus of variations and the study of functionals of submanifolds (such as the area functional, Willmore functional, Helfrich functional, ...)
Local and global differential geometry
Higher order elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations on manifolds
I did contribute to What's Happening in Geometric Analysis?, when it was still operational (it is on hiatus since January 2017). Now, we maintain a geometric analysis page on Facebook: Geometric Analysis. Give us a follow!
Students. I am available to supervise masters and PhD students in any of the above fields. Send me an e-mail with your interests and CV if you are interested in this, and we can explore possible funding opportunities.
Feodor-Lynen Fellowship. I am a former holder of an Alexander-von-Humboldt Research Fellowship, and am thus able to host Feodor-Lynen Fellows (see here). If you are interested in this program, please contact me.
Conferences and Workshops. I am an organiser of the following events:
Grants.
2008. DAAD Fellowship for Young Scientists
2010-2012. AvH Research Fellowship
2014. URC Grant
2015. ARC Discovery Project (joint CI with Ben Andrews (ANU), James McCoy (UOW))
2016. VISA Grant
