LEARNING:
Children arrive at preschool with varied strengths and knowledge. Our low teacher/student ratio permits communication with students in small, personal groups promoting the individuality of each child's potential abilities and aptitudes for learning.
DEVELOPING:
Our happy, secure, and safe environment provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop a positive self image. It opens their minds to accept the challenges that encourage a child's total developmental maturity, both emotionally and physically.
CREATING:
We provide opportunities for creative efforts in art, music, dance and dramatization. Through varied experiences we broaden the child's horizons, enrich his/her concepts, and develop his skills.
INTERACTING AND SHARING:
We encourage child age interaction through various methods like circle time, sharing, independent play and show and tell.
DISCOVERING:
One of our goals is to develop attitudes of inquiry and discovery, whereby the child observes, thinks, experiments, questions, and thereby gains knowledge and understanding.
EXPLORING:
Children explore many aspects of the world around them. These are our monthly curriculum themes:
September - All about me and Manners
October - Fall and Colors
November - Thanksgiving
December - Family and Shapes
January - Nursery Rhymes/Weather
February - Numbers
March - Transportation
April - Animals and their habits
May - Under the sea
SUCCEEDING:
We improve the abilities and social skills of the three year olds in our program and explore activities to promote intellectual and emotional growth. In addition, the four/five year olds advance into experimentation, initial learning skills and the knowledge essential for kindergarten readiness.
