A Celebration of Survival - 50 years!
Welcome to the website for the 50th Reunion of our Class of '65! In 1976 a book led to a TV series that asked, "What Really Happened to the Class of '65?" We'll gather on September 12, 2015, to resolve that question, then continue the camaraderie the following day with a one-day Princess cruise to Vancouver and return to Seattle by train.
Almost 50 years ago, on June 10, 1965, we burst from our high school's "hallowed halls" and scattered into 312 directions, leaving behind our formative years and embarking onto the uncharted journey of adult life. Our futures beckoned. We became airline attendants, construction workers, sailors, soldiers, students and then college graduates, actors, administrators, computer programmers, doctors and nurses, engineers, firemen, lawyers, mechanics, pilots, policemen, politicians, real estate agents, salesmen, and teachers.
We schooled, partied, fought wars, printed the news, worked and became spouses, parents, fathers & mothers and then grandparents. Some of us bid farewell to parents, siblings, children, classmates and friends. We laughed, we cried, we bought and sold, we traveled and learned. What a tapestry of journeys!
Now we prepare for our "Golden Anniversary" and to collectively "raise a glass", share our experiences, recall good times and dismiss bad ones, and reacquaint with one another. It's another step on this pathway into the future. It may not be our "last hurrah" but it should be, by any measure, a HURRAH! After an evening of food and drink and reminiscences, we'll hand out memory books and embark on a one-day Princess Cruise to Vancouver and return by Amtrak train to Seattle on the 14th.
We'll see you September 12, 2015. Carry on!
