58th Year BBQ Gathering - August 20, 2022
Que pasa? 2022 marks 58 years since we graduated high school and left the halls of Glacier High School. At that time 75 or 76 years old seemed elderly or over the hill. How do feel about that now? In our class we still see a lot of active seniors. We hope you’re one of them.
A great BBQ was held last summer on August 21, but there were a few glitches along the way including a 3-alarm fire in a Puyallup Cold Storage facility that kept some away as well as continued Covid worries. Some of you who couldn’t come last year said you hoped to attend in 2022.
We’d like to do our summer class BBQ again, and Roland and Judy are up for it. We hope to see you there. Full details are below.
57th Year BBQ Planners - 75th Birthdays
Several people are involved in our being able to have a 57th class BBQ. Roland Draeger and his wife Judy have graciously offered to host the event at their home, "Hillbilly Heaven". Sonya Engberg Gowers and Karen Winner McMillan are planning and collecting RSVP & $’s for the event. Chris Parkinson & Steve Nasinec will arrange the catering. We are grateful that everyone would work so hard to give us all a wonderful celebration commemorating most of our 75th birthdays and 57 years since our graduation. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
The flyer below should have all the information you need. Please join us for an afternoon of friendly conversation and great food. Bottled water and coolers with ice will be available, but please bring your own beverage. All you need to do before the BBQ is to mail your check for $28 per person by July 20, 2021 to Sonya Gower at 15919 20th Ave SW, Burien, WA 98166. Looking forward to seeing you there. 56th Year Mini-Reunion - Canceled due to Covid
Although we've had a reunion every summer since our 50th class reunion, 2020 proved to be different. Due to Covid-19 we didn't think it a good idea to hold our 56th reunion, which would have been on August 15, 2020, so it was canceled. We vowed to try another reunion in 2021, the year when most of us will be celebrating our 75th birthdays. We've reserved the third Saturday of the month of August for these get-togethers, so that will be that Saturday, August 21, 2021.
