The Greater London Architecture Club, (GLAC), organises visits in and around London to a wide range of significant and interesting new and remodelled buildings, as well as some important historical buildings, parks and landscapes. GLAC also organises day trips further afield, usually by train; and an annual lecture/slide show or film on architecture.
Buildings visited range from classic early modern movement to those in the process of being built or recently completed. Where possible the visit will include a tour of the building with the project architect who will outline the problems and solutions of the design process in order to demonstrate what is involved in achieving good architecture.
Formed in 1986, GLAC evolved from the Greater London Council's in-house Architecture Club which, before its demise, had run many successful seasons of visits and events.
Our members include architects, landscape architects, engineers, artists and others from a wide variety of backgrounds who all share an enthusiasm for good, socially aware modern architecture.
We are a voluntary non-profit making organisation. All our events are organised by members and we encourage suggestions for future events.
