Software Engineering And Programming Languages Journal Club
Welcome to the public Software Engineering and Programming Languages Journal Club started at Google. You are welcome to join us to discuss software engineering and programming languages problems inside and outside Google.
Goals
Help Googlers and the industry practitioners become aware of what is going on in software engineering and programming languages research community through discussing current research papers
Make the research community aware of the problems that Google and the industry are facing so that research will be more relevant to the practice
Establish relationships and create opportunities for potentially collaborations
How It Works
Once a month we pick and discuss a published paper. You can participate in two ways:
Offline: The pdf paper is open to everyone to comment. Feel free to share your thoughts and ask questions directly on the doc (example).
Online: We also organize a monthly meeting where everyone can dial-in over Google Hang out to discuss further (link for each meeting is available on the doc). At our best, we will invite the paper’s authors to join the discussion to provide more insights.
Disclaimers
This is a public forum. The topics discussed have to be public. No Google proprietary discussions are allowed. Some external participants (including the paper authors) are not covered by NDA.
This is not a paper review or critique session. We would try to bring out what the paper adds or key points to Google’s work and what Google can do to support the research community.
