Welcome to the Reed College GIS-in-4.5-hours course. This course is intended to give you a very basic introduction to GIS and esri's ArcGIS software. The course is team taught by Kristin Bott and Jake Brown.

Outside of this course, Kristin Bott is available to answer your questions about GIS and help you apply the technology to your projects at Reed. She can also give you access to additional training for ArcGIS. Reach Kristin by email at kbott@reed.edu

Jake Brown is the GIS Coordinator for the City of Portland's Bureau of Development Services. Jake has a degree in computer science with an emphasis in GIS. He has been a GIS professional in Portland for over 10 years. jake.brown@portlandoregon.gov

• day 2 - Exercise - you'll do some GIS analysis and publish your results
