Getting Started at the Club

Welcome to Girls Who Code Club Newton! If this is your first time at a club meeting in 2015-2016, this is the page for you.

There are a few steps you should take to get setup to join the fun.

Step 0) Make a name tag for yourself. Ask a club leader for materials.

Step 1) Fill out this online student enrollment form online:

• For the Club Name, use the magnifying glass icon, select “All Fields” and search for “Newton”. Choose session A for Friday, and session B for Monday.
• Uncheck the parent consent boxes at the bottom. You'll fill this out on paper.
• Ignore the PowerSigner / DocuSign window at end, just close it.

Step 2) Fill out this research survey. It will take 15-30 minutes. There are no wrong answers, it's just a way for GWC to get a snapshot of your attitudes about and knowledge of Computer Science before your year with the club. There will be a corresponding survey at the end of the year, so GWC can assess what has changed.

• Location: Newton Free Library, Session A (Friday) or Newton Free Library, Session B (Monday)

Step 3) Get a printed copy of this Club Pledge, sign it, and hand in to a staff member.

Step 4) Get a printed copy of the Media Release Form. Bring it home, get it signed by a parent, return it to a staff member.

That's it! Now join in with whatever club activity is going on.
