What's GPN?

The Girls' Programming Network is a group of women and girls into computer science, programming and information technology. We run workshops once per school term for highschool girls! We've written games, made interactive websites and taken apart computers! Check out the past projects to see what girls have done, and what you could be doing!

Upcoming GPN workshops

  • Due to COVID-19, in person workshops are currently suspended. Please subscribe to our mailing list for more information about online activities.

You can add upcoming workshops to your calendar via HTML (for Google Calendar) or iCal, or subscribe to our mailing list for notifications, so we can tell you when registration opens for our next workshop.

What happens at a GPN workshop?

We'll teach you how to make an awesome programming project each time. We also make friends, eat pizza, and do other fun activities!

There will be heaps of tutors at GPN to teach you and help you learn at a pace that's right for you. Our tutors are women and girls who love IT. Some tutors are uni students studying IT or other STEM areas. Others are software engineers from cool companies like Google, Atlassian, Data61 and more!

Who can come to GPN?

Our workshops are designed for high school girls, but keen upper-primary school girls are welcome to come too.

All skill levels from absolute beginner to coding ninja are welcome. You just need to be excited to learn about technology!

Where is GPN held?

All of our events occur at the University of Sydney. Most workshops are held in the School of Computer Science in Darlington.

More information about public transport, bus routes and parking at the University of Sydney can be found here.

Want to come to GPN?

We'd be happy to have you! Join our mailing list so we can tell you when registration opens for our next workshop.

Want to become a tutor?

We're always looking for more tutors to help teach the next generation of girls how to code, and to provide female role models in IT. You can sign up to be a tutor using this form, or check the tutor information page for more information.
