The Girls' Programming Network meets at the School of Computer Science building, located next to the Seymour Centre in the University of Sydney, a large glass building on the corner of Cleveland Street and City Road (in front of, or next to the Seymour Centre). The workshop is held on the ground floor (which is signed Level 1).

Public Transport

We recommend either:

  • catching the train to either Redfern Station and walking to the School, or
  • catching the train to Central Station and then catching a bus to the Seymour Centre, or
  • taking the 422, 423, 426, and 428 from the city (from Castlereagh Street and Railway Square at Central Station). These buses will stop outside the Seymour Centre on the corner of City Road and Cleveland Street.

Not comfortable travelling alone? Don't worry! You can travel with the tutors in a group:

  • At 9:45am (15 minutes before the workshop starts), the tutors will walk in a group from Redfern Station to the School.
  • At 4:15pm (15 minutes after the workshop ends), the tutors will walk in a group from the School of IT to Redfern Station, and also from the School of Computer Science to Central Station.

Parking

Parking is available under the School of Computer Science building: there's a parking station on Shepherd Street run by the University of Sydney. The University also has paid parking on campus - to find out more please visit the University website.

To get to the School of Computer Science, it's easiest to follow the signs from the carpark to the Seymour Centre, exiting the carpark on Level 3. The School is the curved glass building you can see as soon as you leave the carpark. As you walk towards the Seymour Centre, you'll see some glass doors to enter the building.
