Death: __ ___ 1777 (Idolet Gilstrap was killed in a Battle under General Baron DeKalb, some variations include "in the Battle of Camden (SC)" but that was in 1780. This story seems to have started with Abner Lee Gilstrap's history written in 1877. That history has several mistakes and this might be one more. There are no records to show that Idolet died during the War. There are no records showing that there was younger Idolet Gilstrap to carry on the name into Georgia. The records seem to show that there was one Idolet Gilstrap and that he lived until 1803).19,7
