Gil Shapira

Gil Shapira is an Economist in the Global Engagement unit of the World Bank’s Health Nutrition and Population Global Practice. Since the completion of his doctoral studies in economics, at the University of Pennsylvania, he has been leading an analytical and research program focused on health and population topics in developing countries. This program has included leading impact evaluations of health financing reforms, investigation of the market for primary healthcare in the Democratic Republic of Congo, analysis of gaps and inequalities in the quality of health services, and the quantification of disruptions to essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
