Ghostlight Theatre's Mission
The mission of Ghostlight Theatre is to entertain, educate and enrich the community through dramatic arts by offering a quality and diverse theater experience. Ghostlight Theatre provides opportunities for the community to express their artistic abilities in a number of different ways. Whether people want to be onstage, backstage, or just relax and enjoy a show, there will be something for everyone.
Ghostlight Theatre was started in 2010 by Matt & Karen McAuley. They had little more than a few bucks in their pocket, a few local volunteers and a handful of dedicated and talented actors. What began as a quiet dream, grew into a 501(3) non-profit organization over the first year, with five Board Members. For the first three seasons, Ghostlight actors performed in highschool auditoriums and multi-purpose facilities in Surprise, including The Valley Vista Performing Arts Center. In 2013, we were blessed with an opportunity to open our own theater, in a cozy space in Sun City West, where we still perform today. We raised $15,000 to renovate a small retail location into an intimate performance area, including a small lobby, raised stage, space for 77 audience members, dressing rooms, and small back room for props and costumes. We added two new Board Members at that time, and in 2014, we added a Youth Theatre program, under the direction of our new Artistic Director, Cody Dull.
We also invested an additional $10,000 over the summer for theatre renovations (lighting, stage expansion, backroom renovations, and an additional exit door). We are currently remodeling this summer and hope to open our 2015-16 season, proudly and FINALLY displaying our new lighted sign. We appreciate the efforts of every volunteer, each patron, every actor, sponsor and community member for their continued support and financial contributions. It is truly due to your support that we can do what we love. Thank you!

Jeremy would like to say how amazed he is with the talent of all his fellow actors in this play and it's been a great deal of fun working with them all. He would also like to thank his wife and kids for putting up with his hectic schedule during the production.
Don is enjoying an active and fulfilling life in retirement. In addition to travel and participation in golf and bocce, he volunteers at the computer club in Sun City Grand, works as a Sun Dancer at the spring training ball park in Surprise, and is an avid patron of live theatre at numerous venues in the greater Phoenix area. He eagerly volunteers at Ghostlight because he strongly believes in the value and importance of community theatre.
