At a reception hosted at the David R. Meager Community Center on December 18, 2012 in Malta, the GlobalFoundries / Town of Malta Foundation presented checks to 23 different community organizations for a total of $60,000 in grand funding. The complete list of grants awarded in 2012 includes:
The Children’s Museum of Saratoga: $1,500 for supplies for a new, interactive science center .
Cub Scout Pack #25: $1,000 toward the purchase of a new Pinewood Derby track and timer to host a county-wide Pinewood Derby Day for scouts and local families.
Dunning Street Rural Cemetery Association: $1,500 to fund repair and restore fallen and tilting monuments and markers that do not meet criteria for New York State funding.
Jake’s Help From Heaven: $2,000 to help support individuals and families in Malta with medical challenges and disabilities.
Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York: $3,500 for materials for 46 classes reaching 900 students in four Ballston Spa Elementary schools to help prepare young people for success in the global economy.
Malta Ambulance Corps: $3,000 to fund upgrades to technology to improve local pre-hospital medical treatment.
Malta League of Arts: $2,000 to help support events during the 2013 season bringing unique and educational art performances to the Town of Malta for adults and children.
Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company: $3,500 to purchase two automatic defibrillators, improving their ability to respond to sudden cardiac arrest incidents in the community.
Malta Seniors: $1,000 towards social and enrichment activities to provide entertainment, companionship, and to reduce isolation for local seniors.
Malta Sunrise Rotary Club: $5,000 to support a Regional Robotics Competition to be held at the HVCC TEC-SMART campus.
Malta West Ridge Cemetery Association: $1,500 for restoration efforts to repair historic headstones and monuments.
Rebuilding Together Saratoga County: $3,000 to purchase home repair materials from local businesses to support home repairs which are completed by volunteers for elderly, low-income and veteran homeowners in need in Malta.
Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York: $3,000 to supply food, equipment and supplies for local food pantries serving the residents of Malta.
Round Lake Auditorium: $3,500 to fund safety repairs and restoration work for windows.
Round Lake Library: $2,000 to provide a series of free mentoring programs staffed by members of the Engineering Honor Society of Union College and designed to interest children ages 9-13 in science and engineering.
Round Lake/Malta Youth Baseball League: $3,000 for equipment and improvements to the fields.
Rugrunners Robotics: $5,000 to help fund the competitive robotics club at Shenendehowa High School to inspire and excite young people about science and technology.
Saratoga Arts Fest: $3,000 to expand the YES! Program into the Ballston Spa Central School District. The Youth Experience Saratoga Arts Fest program is designed to make the arts more accessible to young people.
Saratoga Bridges: $3,000 to help purchase technology as part of therapy allowing non-verbal patients the ability to communicate.
Saratoga Farmers Market Association: $2,000 to support the promotion and expansion of the Malta Farmers Market.
Town of Malta Spotlighter’s Theatre Troupe: $2,500 for fees and equipment to support quality, affordable live theater to families at the Malta Community Center.
Town of Malta Veterans Committee: $1,000 to help fund a high school and military band for the Town of Malta annual Military, Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Day to be held in 2013.
Town of Malta Youth Commission: $3,500 to help fund Family Fun Night events in the summer of 2013 at the Shenantaha Creek Park and the Malta Community Center.

Ballston Spa CSD Partnership for Innovation in Education Fund: $6,000 to support Robotics competition events, purchase equipment, and provide transportation.
Ballston Spa High School PTSA: $2,000 to help fund the safe “After Prom” event in June 2014 for a safe, drug and alcohol free environment for high school students.
Chango Elementary Literacy Team: $3,000 to help fund an expansion of the Book Room through the purchase of non-fiction, informational texts with the goal of improving reading skills.
Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services of Saratoga County: $5,244 to provide financial support for printing and distribution of material to increase awareness of domestic violence among medical personnel, faith organizations, businesses, and municipalities in the 12019 and 12020 zip codes.

Eastline Romp & Play Dog Park: $1,500 to help fund an entrance sign for new dog park facility designed to provide a safe, secure and accessible recreation are for dog owners to exercise their dogs.
Fire Companies of Malta: $3,000 to help fund a new sign for the shared sub-station now being constructed in Parade Ground Village.
Gordon Creek Elementary PTA: $2,000 to fund an Artist in Residency program to bring an artist or musician into the classrooms for one-on-one student interaction tailored to each grade level.
Junior Achievement of Northeast NY: $4,200 to fund education program in 26 elementary classes and 16 middle school classes reaching 840 students in the Ballston Spa CSD to prepare students to succeed in a global economy.
Luzerne Music Center: $5,000 to fund five, 2-hour workshops to be held in the Town of Malta for Malta music students of different instruments selected by their teachers in the Ballston Spa CSD and Shenendehowa CSD.
Malta Ambulance Corp: $15,000 to fund a new state-of-of-the-art stretcher which makes it easier and safer to load patients into the ambulance.
Malta Avenue School PTA: $2,000 to help fund PTA sponsored events such as field trips, Super Science Saturday, Parents as Reading Partners, Scholastic Book Fair, and Project Empty Stocking to promote giving.
Malta League of Arts: $2,000 to help fund performing art education.
Malta Ridge Cemetery Association: $3,000 to repair and reset fallen and tilting monuments and gravestones which do not meet criteria for State funding.
Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company: $3,000 to purchase new rehabilitation equipment to treat heat stress at the scene of a fire.
Malta Seniors: $1,000 to support day trip to Mac Hayden Theater, providing entertainment and companionship for local seniors.
Malta Sunrise Rotary Club: $7,000 to support the expansion of the 2nd Annual Robot Rumble competition event, support local robotics programs and assist Malta students in STEM education.
Malta West Ridge Cemetery Association: $3,000 to repair and reset fallen and tilting monuments and gravestones which do not meet criteria for State funding.
Rebuilding Together Saratoga County: $6,000 for home repairs for citizens in need in Malta who are elderly, low-income, disabled, or a veteran. Work is done by volunteers and materials are purchased at a discount from local businesses.
Round Lake Auditorium: $11,633 to fund repair and replacement of windows on the east side of the Auditorium and partial funding for improvements to doors.
Round Lake Hose Company #1: $3,000 to help fund updates to the computer system, hardware, operating system, A/V equipment used in training and security including replacement of one computer.
Round Lake/Malta Youth Baseball League: $5,500 to replace old equipment shed and new bleacher at the Round Lake Baseball Field.
Rugrunners Robtics Club: $6,000 to support the Shenendehowa High School FIRST Robotics team.
Saratoga Art: $1,500 for scholarships to allow Malta residents to participate in art programs throughout the year regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
Saratoga Bridges: $6,423 to support the creation of a radio station, WSBR, the voice of Saratoga Bridges. The money will be used to purchase equipment to allow participants to record, edit and upload podcasts.
Saratoga County Historical Society: $4,500 to support the “Reaching out to Malta,” a free program for Malta residents about the Town’s history to two Malta schools (Newmeadow and Malta Montessori) and adult groups.
St. Peter Lutheran Church: $3,000 to purchase food items and certificates for perishable items to the Malta Community Center for distribution to needy families.
The Children’s Museum of Saratoga: $1,500 to install a cubby system with new learning materials that relate to scientific principles and to create a history and architecture wall to include an interactive learning experience.
Town of Malta Trails Committee: $5,000 to help fund “Z-Card” maps of Malta trails and connections to regional trail system. The Z-Cards, a credit card size map that unfolds into 9 inch by 17 inch map, will be available to local residents and visitors the Malta Community Center.
Town of Malta in partnership with Round Lake Library: $1,000 to purchase 10 backpacks and nature discovery supplies to build the Eco Explorers Discovery Pack Loaner Program. Backpacks will be available for check out from the Library.
Town of Malta Spotlighters’ Theater Troupe: $5,000 to help fund additional lighting equipment and the permanent installation of the system towards stage area of mulit-purpose room in the Malta Community Center.
Town of Malta Veterans Committee: $15,000 to help fund 25 guardians to accompany Malta veterans on Honor Flights to visit their appropriate memorial in Washington, D.C., and to support bands at the 2014 Veterans Parade.
Town of Malta Youth Commission: $4,000 to help fund four local free family activities, including a Family Fun Night at Shenantaha Creek Park, a Community Campfire and Sing-a-Long, a DJ Sports Family Night in Winter and a Welcome to Fall event.

In addition to these 2014 grant awards, this year the GlobalFoundries / Town of Malta Foundation has identified $10,500 in additional grant funding that can be accessed by five qualifying organizations on an as-needed basis through 2015. These five organizations - the Angel Names Association, Camp Abilities Saratoga, Jake’s Help From Heaven, Taylor’s Heroes, and the Tears Foundation – each support specific programs designed to assist local families in the event of crisis situation. These five organizations have qualified to receive grant funding if situations occur that meet the Foundation’s grant guidelines through the next year.

Foundation presents $142,964 in new funding to 26 local organizations supporting a wide variety of community programs
The GlobalFoundries / Town of Malta Foundation presented its 2020 slate of 31 grants totaling $142,964 benefiting local organizations and community projects. These grants are in addition to the $50,000 grant provided in March of this year to the Town of Malta to provide local individuals and families with grocery store gift cards. With this additional round of grants, the Foundation formed by GlobalFoundries and the Town of Malta has placed more than $1.4 million into service in the Malta community since 2011.
The 2020 Malta grant awards were presented today during a virtual program. The Foundation Board and organization representatives were present to celebrate funding the following projects and programs:

The GlobalFoundries / Town of Malta Foundation presented its 2021 slate of 24 grants totaling $159,767 benefiting local organizations and community projects. With this additional round of grants, the Foundation formed by GlobalFoundries and the Town of Malta has placed more than $1.5 million into service in the Malta community since 2011.
The 2021 Malta grant awards were presented on December 15, 2021 at the David R. Meager Community Center in Malta. The Foundation Board and organization representatives were present to celebrate funding the following projects and programs:

GlobalFoundries Inc. (Nasdaq: GFS) (GF), announced that the GF-Town of Malta Foundation has awarded its annual grants to the community for the 12th consecutive year in a row. The grants support a variety of community needs and programs with 23 grants totaling $154,200. With this year’s 2022 grants, the Foundation, formed by GF and the Town of Malta, has placed more than $1.73 million into service in the Malta community since 2011.
In 2010, as part of the development of the Fab 8 project, GF invested a total of $5 million to fund two stand-alone 501 (c)3 charitable foundations: the GF-Town of Malta Foundation and the GF-Town of Stillwater Foundation. Each foundation is managed by a separate, independent Board of Directors and uses income earned from investments to fund a wide variety of local community programs.

With this year’s 2023 grants, the Foundation, formed by GF and the Town of Malta, has placed nearly $1.9M into service in the Malta community since 2011.
