Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports

The date for the 2014 Sports Awards Banquet has moved forward. Nominations are due by October 30th. Nominees will be notified by November 7th. The Banquet date is now November 26th (Wednesday).   Nomination form is at bottom of this page! Please download, nominate and send in!!

NCD Consortium

NCD stands for Non-Communicable Diseases. Examples of NCD's the Consortium is hoping to help prevent or manage within Guam's community are the following; Cancers, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Respiratory conditions like asthma. Meetings are held monthly. 

Active groups: Physical Activity, PANDA (Policy & Advocacy), Nutrition, Alcohol, Tobacco

Guam Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition

Announcement! Strides for the Cure and Guam Cancer Care are promoting the Annual Strides for the Cure  2K/5K Run to take place on Saturday, October 4th at the Outrigger Hotel. 

Funds raised will be used to support the Kids for the Cure (K4C) program. The program has reached 1200 elementary school students so far. The prevention curriculum is the Cure4Kids outreach program from St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and there is a strong physical activity component involving fitness instructors from Custom Fitness.
