Karl Stumpp published The Emigration from Germany to Russia in the years 1763 to 1862. It is a standard reference work for German-Russian emigration consisting of 1018 pages, primarily devoted to names of Germans who migrated to Russia. Names of emigrants are listed in alphabetical order and are divided into three main sections:
The migrants to the Volga region, pages 117 to 165.
The Mennonites, pages 167 to 204
The migrants to the Black Sea regions, pages 204 to 497.
The sequence of information about each migrant is given in this order:
Surname
Give name (first name)
Given name (second name)
Age (often omitted)
The place in Germany from which the migrant departed (village or town name is spelled out; however, the district names are abbreviated). The abbreviations are listed on pages 177 (Volga region), 167 (Mennonite region), and 204 (Black Sea region).
The year of migration
Destination in Russia (village or town name is spelled out, district names are abbreviated. (See abbreviations table on pages 177, 167, & 204).

Revision List (RL). These are census type lists that provided information on Black Sea Germans for the years 1816, 1811 (partial), 1808, and 1858. The revision lists are found on pages 499 to 972. An index to the Revision lists by colony is found on pages 1015-1016. For example: The Revision list for Freudental/Odessa will be found on page 572.
Passport Lists (PL). These lists (I through VIII) are for a small part of the Black Sea colonies. These provide the itinerary from Germany to Russia. These lists are found on pages 973 to 1014.
