About me

I was born in Brooklyn, New York and also grew up in New Jersey and south Florida. My father, a college professor, used to bring me to his chemistry classes when I was young. This was my inspiration to become a teacher and a scientist. Summers, we often traveled to visit a friend of my dad's living in Tobago (a tiny island near Venezuela). That was the origin of my interest in people from all different cultural backgrounds. Though I initially wanted to become an Anthropologist, it was Linguistics--the study of the most interesting human behavior--which fascinated me.
