The radius is the driver link for a Strophoid (below). The 4 longer lengths are equal, and the 4 shorter lengths are also equal. The blue line is from the embedded Peaucellier linkage. Changing the lengths (other than the radius) doesn't change the strophoid or line, but it will change the extent of the linkage. Using the circle as a circle of inversion, the strophoid inverts to the same strophoid.
