Geoffrey Chua is Associate Professor of Operations Management and Academic Director for the Nanyang MBA at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He received his PhD in decision sciences from the National University of Singapore. His research spans the areas of supply chain management, sustainable operations, data security and privacy, and operations-marketing interface. He has published in leading journals and conferences such as Operations Research, Production and Operations Management (POM), Neural Information Processing Systems, International Conference on Machine Learning, International Conference on Learning Representations, IISE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, and International Journal of Production Economics. He has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research, Associate Editor of Networks, and to the editorial review boards of POM and Computers & Operations Research. He was awarded the Research Excellence Award by NBS (2015, 2011) and has attracted more than S$1.4 million in research funding.
Geoffrey has taught operations management, supply chain management, service operations, and management science at the EMBA, PMBA, MBA, MSc and undergraduate levels. He received the Supply Chain Asia Educator of the Year Award (2025), Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP) Teacher of the Year Award (2024), Koh Boon Hwee Honoured Faculty Award (2023, 2022), Teaching Excellence Award from NBS (2014) and Nominee for the NBS Teacher of the Year Award (2019, 2018, 2014). He also actively consults for organizations such as Hewlett-Packard, OCBC Bank, ST Engineering, Alstom, UPS Singapore, and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is Fellow of REP since 2016 and was previously Senator of the NTU Academic Council (2020-2022), Academic Director for the Nanyang EMBA (2020-2021), Deputy Director for REP (2018-2019) and Honorary Treasurer of the Operational Research Society of Singapore (2017-2019).
