20th June
Banana and miscanthus taking off on the right to balance the tree ferns on the left.
Bright red geraniums putting on a very cost-effective show along with orange and red lilies.
12th July
Getting the best from some scented plants - night-scented stock, pink, lavender, nicotiana affinis,
The white lily corm was something I grabbed at random on Easter weekend.
Rest assured next year there will be a lot more of these.
22nd July
The bargain bin "Stargazer" Lilies are coming into their own.
Combined with the nicotiana, the scent was somewhat overwhelming.
31st July
My front garden really taking off. The large block of nicotiana affinis has been stunning -
the almost over-powering scent is very similar to that of lilies and will be an essential feature from now on.
13th August
The lilies are all finished - leaving the verbena bonariensis to shine at the back,
a lobelia supplying a little red,
white, scented gladiolus and heliotrope on the near right - soon to be complimented
by the buddleia on the left.
My brand new brugmansia suaveolens plenum is about to do its thing. :)
17th August
... only it's supposed to be double, and no mention of it turning pink overnight ....
The scent is stunning though. I knew these
first two blooms had opened from 30 feet away - indoors.
I have a history of buying white flowered plants only for them to turn out to be pink:-

This is going to set me back 12 months. I was hoping to put this plant in a
30 litre tub and have lots of new plants to give away. I will instead have to
order a replacement from a different supplier.
No doubt there will be takers for this pink form. I really don't have room for it.
