Students and Parents, welcome to this Global Awareness Technology Project orientation and resource site! It is provided to build your understanding of the Global Awareness Technology Project or GATP for short. Students, you will be going through through the process of researching social studies content, creating and communicating with technology to display and share your understanding. You ask, what are the learning goals for this project? As you can see from the image, our students will be engaging in all of their Portrait of a Graduate skills and dispositions.

As for goals, students will...

understand the interrelationships and interdependence of the countries and cultures of the world
effectively use technology to access, communicate, and apply knowledge and to foster creativity

Let's take a look at the main steps you will follow to complete your project. Your teachers will provide many more details describing all the steps to complete your project.

1. Explore the Essential Question and find a topic and place that interests you.

2. In your group, refine your question, and brainstorm your “question’s questions” (what do you need to know) and possible resources.

3. Begin research, taking careful notes and writing down your sources!

4. Synthesize your information to answer your question, including a graphic organizer.

5. Create a technology-based way to present information, analysis and conclusion.

6. Present your fabulous project!
