I am senior researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB, Department Labour Market Processes and Institutions of the Research area Macroeconomy and Institutions) in Nuremberg and Privatdozent (adjunct associate professor) at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU).

My primary research question is: What can we learn from micro data for improving search and matching models of the labor market? This includes questions on cyclicality of wages or job and worker flows, the formation of wages (wage posting or bargaining), firms search costs and recruiting patterns. The main data source for my current research is the German Job Vacancy Survey of the IAB.

My secondary research interest concerns gender specific wages.
