One of the things we like about the Garrett Lake area are the trees. Sometimes, though, trees get in the way. You will need to get permission from the Board before you chop down a tree. You can contact any of the board members, and they will take it to the board meeting, which meets once a month. If it's an emergency, the board can discuss in via email. We also encourage that if you take down a tree, then plant one in its place. We have money up to $150 to help you replace that tree!
The Garrett Lake Homeowners Association maintains Garrett Lake, which is privately owned by the Association, and its surrounding common area. Among the benefits of membership:
Use of the scenic one mile walking route around Garrett Lake.
Benches along the Lake shore for a leisurely break or for just admiring the view.
Boating and fishing on the Lake during warmer weather.
Ice-skating during the Winter months.
Use of the common areas for running, playing, and games.
Annual picnics to meet and socialize with your neighbors.
Recent GLHA projects include:
Re-paving of the walking route.
Taking out cattails that had started to overtake part of the lake.
Installation of an aeration system in Garrett Lake.
Enzyme treatment of the Lake to improve water quality and clarity.
Trimming and removal of overgrown trees and underbrush.
Grass mowing in all common areas.
The financial year for the GHLA runs from July 1 through June 30. Current annual assessments for full members are $350 per lot.
Associate members pay an annual assessment of $325 and receive the same benefits as full members except snow-plowing. Please download our Associate Member Application to join.
