Aim of this school:

This school focuses on questions about the birational geometry of hypersurfaces, for example whether a given (cubic) hypersurface is (stably) rational. As these classical questions are very hard and difficult to answer, they attracted a lot of attention and served as a benchmark for new techniques. We want to mention here applications of Hodge theory, deformation theory, Chow-theoretic approaches like the decomposition of the diagonal, unramified cohomology and also homological approaches like the K3 category of a cubic fourfold or Bridgeland stability.

At this school some of these new techniques and their applications are presented.

The target audience are young post-docs and PhD students in algebraic geometry.
