I am a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad in the southern state of Kerala. My primary research interests are computational fluid dynamics and mathematical modelling in sports. I work on developing novel computational algorithms for fluid flow and heat transfer, with a special focus on immersed boundary methods, both in the incompressible and compressible regimes. I also do some work on mathematical modelling in cricket such as developing alternatives to Duckworth-Lewis-Stern rule and approximate determination of spin/fast bowling trajectories. I am an ardent fan of the South African brand of cricket and have been an amateur cricket and badminton player since my student days. I am a supporter of free and open source software and believe in promoting the sharing of codes and ideas to develop a healthy research environment.
