Gang Liu
Gang LIU is an energetic researcher and nice person. His interests lie in the areas of “human talking” (speech signal processing) and machine listening/learning. One of his goals is to advance the robustness and efficiency of speech system. He has fruitfully lead various teams such as CRSS, Alibaba teams for the NIST language recognition evaluation (LRE) ,speaker recognition evaluation (SRE) competition from 2010 to 2016. He has strong passion for the speech related research and application, in which he believe lies part of his life meaning. He also enjoys community service and sharing with friendship, in which he believe lies another part of life meaning. He is member of the IEEE (ID:92198059), ISCA (ID:12445), and ACM (ID: 7932497). He serves as a reviewer for more than 100 conference and journal paper.
Research interests:
1. Acoustic event identification: Speaker/language/emotion identification
2. Automatic speech recognition (ASR): ASR in noisy and dynamic condition, Keyword Spoting
3. Computer aided language learning (CALL): Innovative visual feedback for deaf-mute child, language learning
4. Robust feature designing: source separation, speech enhancement, supra-segmental feature
5. Engineering: efficient algorithm to process big data (>10TB); code delivery to sponsors; High performance computation.
