About Me

I was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD. I then attended the University of Iowa for a degree in Elementary Education (our Pen Pals attend the university!). While at the University I met my husband, and ten years later we are married with two dogs and a rabbit.

I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first, fourth, and sixth grades. I have a masters degree as a Reading Specialist and a Certificate of Advanced Study in ESL (English As a Second Language). I just can't get enough of learning to become a better teacher. My next goals to fulfill are to spend a summer teaching in China, and to receive my National Boards Certificate.

In my spare time I enjoy being with my fuzzy babies, reading, being outside, and especially spending quality time with my 5 nephews and 1 niece.

Your children will spend each day exploring all aspects of knowledge. My goal is to inspire them to inquire about the world around them and realize that learning is a lifelong and exciting journey.
