NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course (14 hrs)
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. The course is at least 14 hours long over two days and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students will learn NRA’S rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for further skill development.
Prerequisites: None
Equipment Required:
Rifle – Must be in good working order, not modified from factory specs.
Bring owners manual.
50 rounds of ammunition (Commercially manufactured ONLY!- No Reloads)
(Rifle and ammunition can be provided for nominal fee)
Eye and Ear Protection (can be provided)
Range Time: 3-5 hours (Rain or shine)
