Welcome

I am a Professor of Economics at McGill University.  My research examines issues in monetary economics and collective decision-making using a mix of theoretical modeling and econometric techniques and has been published in scholarly journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Political Economy, International Economic Review, and others.  I served as President of the Canadian Economics Association in 2021-2022 and as Chair of the Department of Economics at McGill in 2019-2024.

I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, USA, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge, UK, before coming to Canada.
