Stages internationaux en Belgique francophone

Do you want to work in a professional environment where you will improve your French by using it in a total immersion experience for four weeks (or more)? Are you independent and highly self motivated? Do you like to challenge yourself? Well, this internship may be for you.

The Department of Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University is pleased to offer to students who have taken French 3200 (and above) the possibility of completing a 4-week (6 or 8 week program possible) international internship in a Belgian public/private business. When the students are not at their internship sites, they are placed in a youth hostel in Ath or in a host family (at additional cost). Therefore, students can be sure to improve their French and at the same time take weekends to visit "la Belgique." Here are several positions being offered for next summer. This list is just to give you an idea with the possibilities. If you have an idea about what you would like to do, we can try to find a match in Belgium.

- Ath: Jenny Flore (helping with day to day activities in the florist shop)

- Mons: Musée d'histoire naturelle (helping with maintaining the collections, giving tours). Position open only in May

- Mons: City welcome center (Assisting tourists visiting the city). Position open only in July

All internships are in the province of Hainaut (Belgium) in the city of Mons and Ath area.

Please, be aware that some internship positions may require some specific skills.

ALL internships take place during the month of May, June and July 2015. Dr. Guglielmi will be in Belgium to assist you at the beginning of your internship and place you in the host family (or youth hostel).

You MUST be registered in a French 3000 (and above) class for Spring 2015 to be ready for the internship experience. Ideally French 3302 (conversation) is a great class to go before the internship takes place.

Still interested? Contact your advisor first to ask if this experience will count towards your degree. Then contact Dr. Luc Guglielmi for an appointment.

Deadline for these international internships is March 1st, 2015.
