Children Classes

Bahá’í children’s classes aim to nurture the hearts and minds of children. These classes help children learn to reflect on and apply spiritual principles such as love, unity, justice, consultation and cooperation. Children are empowered to apply these principles to their own lives and in their interactions with others. Based on the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith, the classes focus on spiritual attributes or virtues and foster in students the knowledge, skills and values required to be world citizens. Students are encouraged to develop a love for service to their community and to embrace the oneness of humankind in all its diversity. Students from any religious background are welcome to attend (with their guardians’ permission) and many currently do. The classes include short lessons, activities to build friendship, games, stories, art and music.

Devotional Gathering

Fredericton Bahá’ís help build a vibrant community life in our neighbourhoods by holding regular devotional gatherings. These meetings are open to all, and are intended to awaken spiritual awareness. They help to strengthen the devotional character of the community by embracing the attitude of prayer and reverence that is universal to all religions. Bahá’ís and our neighbours gather to pray in diverse settings such as homes, local community centres and other public venues. The aim is to come together in prayer and meditation. Although there is no set form for such gatherings, spiritual writings from various religions and music add to the uplifting environment. You are welcome to attend a devotional gathering.

Study Circle

Study circles are spaces where participants gather to gain knowledge, spiritual insights and skills that will enable them to contribute to the betterment of society. A sequence of courses based on the Bahá’í Writings constitutes the study material. The study circles are facilitated by individuals who assist with discussion and encourage an environment of participatory learning, consultation with others and the use of the arts. This inspirational setting is conducive to the spiritual empowerment of the participants who come to see themselves as active agents of their own learning.
