About the Constitution
The November 2008 Constitution was the original supreme law of the Democratic Duchy of Francisville. The state system it set out was radically different from the one at present. The constitution set out a powerful government, and an powerful elected Monarchy. Officially, civil rights were not well preserved by this constitution, although the public did still retain complete power over their provisions.
The Constitution almost acted as a provisional system of government in order to pave the way for further advancement of the Duchy by the government. The constitution was replaced by the Head of State in early 2009.
No official copy of the Constitution exists. The only document surviving is a rough copy, which was later corrected. This copy can be seen below.
