On 18/11/1926, Azucena Maizani recorded a tango whose title, curiously, does not appear in the recording book (matrix № 35, unreleased). An advertisement in issue № 4758 of the newspaper “Crítica” of 30/10/1926 strongly suggests that this piece must have been the tango POBRE ORGANITO, premiered by Azucena Maizani on that same day at the Teatro de la Comedia.

Until recently, the origin and authors of the "Discography of Francisco Canaro" mentioned in the preface were completely unknown. The acquisition of an original copy in July 2025 shed light on this matter, as the back cover of the book does indeed contain the following bibliographic information in Japanese:
監修。岩崎永一
蟹江丈夫
湯沢修一
高場将美
タンゴ資料研究会・編
〒150 東京都渋谷区恵比寿1-13-6
ラティーナ内
[Published by: Eiichi Iwasaki
Takeo Kanie
Shuichi Yuzawa
Masami Takaba
Compiled by the Tango Study Group
1-13-6 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokio 150
Within "Latina"]
Thus, the book was published by the collector Iwasaki Eiichi, the president of the Suiyōkai Shuichi Yuzawa, and the music journalists Kanie Takeo and Takaba Masami. The discography was compiled by the "Tango Study Group" within "Latina" in Tokyo; this refers to the Japanese music magazine "Latina", whose editor-in-chief Takaba Masami was. It seems likely that the discography was published around the first half of the 1980s.

The following matrices were added:
№ 11225/1 and 11225/2 (VAMOS CORAZON) and № 11277/1 and 11277/2 (YA LO SABES (NO TE CASES)), whose existence has been verified by means of an original PARLOPHONE record № D.P. 100, on which matrices № 11255/2 and 11277/2 were published;
№ 11955/1 and 11955/2 (LOS OJOS MAS LINDOS) and № 11961/1 and 11961/2 (CORAZON ENCADENADO), whose existence has been verified by means of an original ODEON (ES) record № 204.379 and an original PARLOPHONE record № DP 96 on which matrices № 11955/2 and 11961/2 were published.

The data on the recording of the vals QUE BELLO ES SOÑAR by Juan Carlos Ghio has been corrected. There are two different versions of the lyrics of this work, one by the Chilean author Luis Sandoval B. with the title "Murmullos del parque" (1928) and a later one by the Argentine author Alfredo Faustino Roldán with the title "Qué bello es soñar. Murmullos del bosque" (1929). According to the 1931 General Catalogue of Odeón Chile, record ODEON (CL) No. 4605 contains the recording of the vals MURMULLOS DEL PARQUE (Qué bello es soñar), which indicates that it is the lyrics by Luis Sandoval B.

Matrices № 12052/1 and 12052/2 (MARIPOSA NOCTURNA) and № 12057/1 and 12057/2 (HACE UN AÑO) were added, whose existence has been verified by means of an original PARLOPHONE record № D.P. 108 on which matrices № 12052/2 and 12057/2 were published.

Matrix № 13096/1 (EL LISTON (PARA QUE ME ESCRIBES SI NO SABES)) was added, whose existence has been verified by means of an original ODEON record № 5238. This is an astounding surprise because, for the very first time in more than 15 years, data in Lefcovich's Canaro discography that contradict the “Discografía de Francisco Canaro” by an unknown author mentioned in the preface have turned out to be correct (in contrast to Lefcovich's Canaro discography, the latter one does not mention this matrix).

The title of the recording published on the B-side of ODEON record № 4271 has been corrected, which on the label reads as follows: BYE BYE BLACKBIRD (EL MIRLO SE VOLO). The original English title is missing in some discographies.

The One-Step with the obviously incorrect title AVER AGAIN (TELE-PHONE record № 3116) has finally been identified: It is the song I'LL DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN by the American composer Albert Gumble.

It has been verified by means of an original ODEON record № 4172 that matrix № 3870 (CAMINITO) was also published.
Matrix № 3192/1 (DUELO CRIOLLO) was added, whose existence has been verified by means of an original ODEON record № 16204.

The recording dates of several recordings by the Orquesta Típica Canaro for the ATLANTA label have been corrected because supplement № 1 to the ATLANTA catalogue of September 1916 indicates that the matrices released on records № 3013 to 3042 belonging to the so-called "Serie Canaro" (Canaro Series) were recorded in 1916. This means that the periodisation of the first recordings of the Orquesta Típica Canaro with 1915 by some discographies is probably incorrect.
Other data on these records have been corrected accordingly. To be mentioned:
the genre "chilena" for LA BOLIVIANA (№ 3001), which does not correspond to Chazarreta's original score (nor does it correspond to other discographies);
the title EL AEROPLANO (№ 3017), which was on the label of TELE-PHONE record No. 3017 later substituted for AEROPLANO;
the title of the tango 16 (№ 3029), which does correspond to the original score (but not to the spelling of other works by Alberico Spátola on the label of earlier ATLANTA records);
the attribution of the zamba LA TUCUMANA (№ 3031) to "F. Canaro," which seems dubious because in 1915 Alejandro Carlos Rolla published a homonymous work;
the fact that the tango MIRAMONTE (№ 3035) is a composition by Augusto A. Gentile (and not by Augusto Pedro Berto, as it is incorrectly assumed in some discographies);
finally the genre of the vals criollo RECUERDOS DE BETINOTI (№ 3041). By the way, the spelling BETINOTI is not an error; it is custom on ATLANTA record labels and therefore was apparently also used on this one, although it might not correspond to the original score.

Matrix № 14871/2 (ADIOS PAMPA MIA) was added, whose existence has been verified by means of an original PARLOPHONE record № D.P. 329.
The contact form, which has not been functioning properly since 2021, has been reactivated.
