In 1998 I have completed my studies at the university of Roma "La Sapienza" obtaining a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering 1998, with a specialisation in machines fluid dynamics, with the highest marks 110/110 and mention (Magna cum Laude).
I started my career as developer of CFD codes and then I began a collaboration with INSEAN, the Italian National Institute for research in hydrodynamics as consultant.
I won the public competition for a Permanent Position as Researcher in 2000, and in 2001 I officially took service as Research Scientist in naval hydrodynamics. I was responsible for the engineering and execution of experimental campaigns at the rectilinear towing tank basins for commercial and research projects.
In 2005 I have obtained a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics with an experimental study on the influence of model scale in the near field surface flow of ships.
The same year I took a one year leave from the work at INSEAN and I went to the University of Western Australia to work on a 1 year project on crane operations for offshore installations through the splash zone.
From 2006 till 2009 I have resumed my work at INSEAN.
In January 2009 I returned to Western Australia to work on a research project on sloshing flows for LNG (liquid natural gas) transportation in marine containers.
I have worked four years as Research Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering and at the Ocean Institute of the University of Western Australia. Carrying out experiments, lecturing and supervising graduate and post-graduate students.
From 2012 to 2015 I was Senior Engineer with MCS Kenny in Perth working in projects related to mooring, risers and floating and subsea offshore facilities.
In 2015 I took the position of Lead Mooring Engineer for Viking SeaTech, based in the Perth Office. We are specialised in design, procurement, rental and installation of mooring systems for MODUs (Mobile Offshore Drilling Units), inshore moorings, permanent moorings and others; with particular focus to extreme cyclonic conditions.
When Viking SeaTech was acquired by InterMoor in 2018 I became Engineering Manager for the APAC Area with responsibilities for the engineering team in Perth and Singapore delivering 100+ mooring projects a year.
I have also worked in several different offshore projects as engineer, mooring engineer and project manager
