Start of school & dismissal times
School Doors open at 8:10am. Students arriving at 8:20am or later are considered late and need to sign in at the office.
School dismissal starts at 2:40pm
Morning drop off and pick up
For students who are walkers or drop offs in the morning, the students are dropped off at the front of the school via the drop off lane. Students wait outside until the doors open just after 8:00 am. Students are expected to wait on the sidewalk and stay out of the parking lot.
For those that are pickups or walkers, the students are dismissed in tiers. When they hear their tier called for dismissal they can leave their classroom and look to exit the school. Principal Mr. Clark usually stands at the cross walk at South & Fremont to assist walkers crossing the street to head home. This helps with the traffic flow at that time of day. Parents who are picking up students navigate the parking lot paths to find a spot to wait. The parking lot can have its challenges. Some folks have found it helpful to have their students wait inside the lobby and come at 2:45 or 2:50 and avoid the congestion.
What is "On A Roll"?
At the end of every month the school administration, at Williams Intermediate, like to recognize students who are "in a groove, on one's game, on the right track, on a wining streak or in the zone". Students can be chosen for good citizenship, but that is not the only criteria for selection. Students are selected by their teacher/s for many reasons which can include: doing well on tests, bringing their average up, handing in homework consistently or being helpful. For the most part they are students who have shown improvements or worked hard to reach a goal. Photos of those chosen each month can be seen on the district website under the Williams Intermediate School tab. Permission slips are sent home for group photo shots. The students names are posted in the school lobby.
Report Cards & Terms
Report cards for 3rd and 4th graders are very much like the ones at Mitchell in the Middle. The 4th grades function on quarterly term schedule as well. The classrooms function with two teachers on a team. They switch for a subject or two. Usually their rooms are right next to one another and the students pass through the rooms to change subjects.
Report cards for 5th grade students move to a letter grade system. These academic grades function on teams. They also function on a trimester schedule. Each term brings a change in specials. that are offered. The specials that are rotated are Computer, Art and Music.
School Lunch
School lunches change just a bit at the Williams Intermediate. The school menu is not sent home from the Williams Intermediate School. You can pick up a copy of it from the spinner of flyers in the main office. You can view or print a copy of one from the district website.

Music and Chorus Program
The district offers music on a trimester basis. Each grade will have music during one of their trimesters. Our music program has a trimester end concert. This allows the students to showcase all their hard work from their classroom program.
The WIS has instrument lessons that are offered after school for a fee. Instruments are available to be rented. Information is handed out at the beginning of the school year. The program offers a student showcase to share the various instruments with the students as well as a rental pick up night at the school.
Students meet after school for a half hour lesson on a weekly basis. The students showcase their hard work in a year end music ensemble event.
Students are eligible for band in the 5th grade. The band will meet on period block during the school day. There are extra rehearsal times scheduled after school for specific events. The 6th grade band works towards a band competition at the end of the school year.
Chorus is offered to students. The chorus students have an opportunity to showcase their hard work in a year end music ensemble. Students are eligible to work towards the Choral Competitions at the end of the school year.
There is a separate parent organization for the music program. The Junior Music Boosters website is http://www.bridgewatermusic.org or you can find them on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/juniormusicboosters/.
Accessing the school portal
Our school progress reports and report cards are located online. You can access your student's information from the website. It will include absences, grades, teacher/team assignments and other pertinent information. There is an app that can downloaded to mobile devices. When the teacher/team assignments are uploaded to the website, for the start of the school year, they need to be accessed via the internet and not the app.
