Welcome to the Fowey River Canoe Club Website.

Fowey Canoe Club has been producing paddlers at a national level across all age groups for a number of years and has this year seen success within both our junior and senior divisions. We are a competitive flat-water kayaking club based in Golant, on the picturesque estuary of the River Fowey in Cornwall. Our club enters races of both the Marathon and Sprint disciplines throughout the year; both locally and nationally.

Please use the navigation tools on the left to learn more about us and competitive flat water kayaking, forthcoming races, training and open sessions, latest news and photos, recent race results and of course the all important club social events.

If you would like to get in touch, please use the "Contact Us" link on the left. We are always happy to hear from budding new kayaking hopefuls, those who fancy giving it a go and the more experienced paddler.

****** Committee Statement- regarding getting back on the water *****

We are not paddling as a club, but the club is trying to support individual paddling.

We ask all our members to follow the most recent Government exercise guidelines and British Canoeing paddling guidelines.

The clubhouse will remain closed, as everyone has their own boat or has already borrowed a club boat. We are going ahead with changing the locks as was already planned and will issue keys to members when we start re using the clubhouse.

If paddling at Golant please change from cars, respecting distancing requirements of other water users and residents.

No K2 paddling unless within family or household groups.

No wash hanging when paddling – to respect distancing requirements.

The committee strongly recommends the use of buoyancy aids.

Please take extra care if you are paddling alone.

Membership – Rachel will ask you to complete a new membership form as normal, but we won’t ask for membership fees until we know how long the club will be shut and we can work out an appropriate rebate.

Please remember we are paddling as individuals but the club will do all it can to support you in doing this. If you need help, advice or assistance with equipment please ask Martyn or any other Committee member and we will do our best to help, within the current guidelines.
